I am glad that you are reading my work and interested in knowing more about blogging. This is my 3rd attempt at blogging which I started in July 2020, under lockdown.

Why Blog?
One of the basic reasons for why we blog is, I think, for making our web presence. It is a way to express yourself, to present your thoughts and ideas and opinions on something. But, blogging is not the only way, where people are not much into writing, they chose to make youtube channel or start audio podcast. All these are just methods to express yourself.
As you’ve been reading my blog, I am certain that you have learned that I lean into various topics. There are many things in this world that interest me and I am not gonna stop exploring.
Blogging is a great way to express your writing or simply present it as your journal, a book of thoughts, and that’s why I named my blog as, “Blog of Thoughts by Sulaksh More”. At level, you learn a lot from your blogging experience and trust me, you’ll be proud to be part of blogging community.
How To Start A Blog:
Well, now that you want to start a blog, you may ask, HOW?
There are many options and mostly offer free services. If you wish to build a blog with no cost, then Blogger or WordPress are recommended. Here, you can start a blog with absolutely nothing and a range of tools to start with, but you cannot use a custom or your personal domain name here.
In case if you wish to start a blog with a custom domain name, then you will have to go with traditional blogging, where you purchase a domain name of yours, then buy some hosting to host your blog. There are many hosting service providers and after using services for few, I am now settling with Hostinger and this blog itself is hosted with them.
So, breaking down:
- Decide on a domain name, it can be simply your name (like mine) or something related to your work or hobbies or simply related to a niche you want to write about.
- Get a hosting package, like said earlier, many hosting providers but based on your requirement you can chose any and my recommendation is: Hostinger.
How to Get Started:
Now that you have domain and hosting, get started with installing a good Content Management Tool and most bloggers would recommend WordPress.
Select a proper theme, a good name and heading. Decide on niche you want to write about and begin. Start adding proper tags and create suitable categories.
This is how you get started with blogging but this is just a tip of the iceberg you can’t see. One you have your articles coming in, you will begin to understand the concepts of SEO, Importance of Social Media, etc.
In early stage, focus on creating better content for your visitors then work on gaining more traffic.
