Goa is a destination we usually think of during the year end, but have been lived and worked in Goa over the year, it has provided me with enough reasons to visit Goa just anytime.
Check out my Goa series.
Monsoon in Goa
Three friends decided to go on short trip, just like the old times. Thankfully we all had hybrid work arrangements, allowing us to work from anywhere. Plan was to reach Goa on Thursday, work and enjoy, return on Sunday.
Where we stayed
There was no question here! I had already decided on trying the Bunk n Brew Stay in Canacona. It was a cozy stay, away from the touristy places of Goa, quite roads, and greenery. We booked ourselves the dorm rooms and did had a few good dorm mates. If you are a solo traveler or a group of friends, I’d recommend you to stay here.
What we ate
Have been lived in Goa and knowing the Konkani Language, it really helps in understanding the local culture. This time we stayed in South Goa, so most dishes were as blend in with Karnataka region dishes.
We really enjoyed the Ross Omelet and banana buns. Delicious combo. We did tried a lot of sea food and were not disappointed. Fish Thali (Fish Sambar needs a special mention here), Prawns, Bangda, etc.
Tip: Try and pick a restaurant that doesn’t looks much fancy. More quiet and subtle, but tasty for sure, personal experience.
Places we visited
Knowing it is monsoon and how it rains over the Konkan belt, we didn’t had much plans on covering tourist spots. We were to stay and chill. Do Nothing!.
We did visit Palolem Beach, few minutes walk from our stay.
On last day, we decided to board our return bus from Panjim, instead of Madgaon, as we had a few hours to explore. We took the local bus to Panjim and explored a few places on foot.
We left the Panjim Bus stand and walked by the Rio de Ourem road and what a view it was. Fontanhas is a pretty obvious pick. Further, we walked up to Immaculate Conception Church.
To conclude, it was a lovely short trip. Wonderful weather, good food, chill vibes and life goes on!
