Nature always has it’s ways to reveal itself and surprise us. It is us who miss the journey waiting for the destination.

I am blessed to have a hometown placed right in the middle of the beautiful Konkan. Sitting in the middle, Konkan regions and districts enjoys the foreign breeze that sea brings in while being covered by the amazing Western Ghats on the other side. For a traveller, Konkan never misses an opportunity to surprise while a foodie will always have his/her’s belly full with delicious food.

Me & My Journey To My Hometown:

The reason I mention my hometown is because my hometown gave me a view, an understanding of what nature is and how it reveals itself. Everybody can get in a car and off on a trip but not all will have same view or look at the scenes with same perspective. Nature never does partiality, it always is ready to take you on the most wonderful journey you could ever have, only if you are willing. Don’t be a tourist, be a traveller.

People have wallpapers and photos and drawing, exploring the depth of nature in their bedroom and yet they fail to notice a flower blooming out of their window. It is not necessary to travel a 100 kilometres to enjoy nature, the same thing can be greatly enjoy from your city park or building terrace, only if you are willing.

Nature is always at its best, never fails to surprise someone who’s willing to bend down, pick a rock and see what’s hiding under the rock.

Walking 9 kms to SUNRISE:

I was in Goa for New Year’s Eve, Solo, and I had two days to do exactly something that I didn’t planned. I was in Goa, alone, without any plan and the first thing I decided to do was to walk 9 kms from Madgaon Railway Station to Colva Beach. It was 03:30 AM, I was alone and had all the time in the world, 6 hours to sunrise.

My plan was to witness the sunrise on the beach, a romantic movement spend alone. Well, walking for around 2 hours, while been followed by a number of dogs (they obviously thought why is he wandering in the middle of the night, lonely human), then joined by a group of college students going same way and finally reaching the beach, watched a few fishermen doing their jobs. I placed my bag aside, removed my shoes and the breeze was felt as my feet touched the sand. Sun wouldn’t rise for another hour and so I walked around and finally sat down.

Travelling to Discover Nature:

One of the basic reason, for why people go on trips and vacations to explore nature is that they have decided that nature can only be explored out of their city. I am not against going on vacations, it is totally understandable that we explore different cultures and life. We all can simply witness a sunrise from our city homes, plant a tree and watch the flowers bloom, watch a leaf get green then turn yellow and fall off, these are all simple acts of nature.

To Wrap It Up: I strongly think we all must find nature in every small act, within and without, for we, as a whole, are part of nature.
